The Ministry of Health has directed the following seven regulatory health colleges to amalgamate to form a new, multi-profession college on June 28, 2024: the College of Dietitians of British Columbia, College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia, College of Optometrists of British Columbia, College of Opticians of British Columbia, College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia, College of Psychologists of British Columbia, and the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia.

Draft bylaws available for public feedback

A set of bylaws for the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC has been drafted and is now available for public feedback until June 14, 2024 at 4:30 pm. These bylaws are based on the bylaws of the existing four regulatory colleges that will amalgamate on June 28, 2024, to form the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC. Ministry of Health sets timeline for college amalgamations

The Ministry of Health has directed the 11 colleges to amalgamate by the end of June 2024. In recognition of this significant undertaking, the Ministry of Health has committed to providing initial funding to begin amalgamation work and additional funding for resources required to implement these amalgamations.
